Public opinion research is one of our six disciplines. We publish the studies our clients clear for release, with the sample, the frame and the error band stated beside the numbers. A finding is only worth as much as the method behind it, so we put both in the same place.

How we work

A number is only as good as the method under it.

Community surveys, municipal polling and resident research are a core discipline for us, not a subcontracted add-on. Here is how we build a study that a commission, a reporter or a resident can interrogate.

Sample the cuts you actually need

Sample size is a subgroup question before it is a total. A citywide number can look solid while a single district, age band or language group is too thin to act on. We decide which breakdowns a decision depends on before fielding, because sample cannot be added afterward.

Weight to the population you are describing

A survey of registered voters and a survey of all residents are different populations, and weighting to the wrong frame adds error rather than removing it. We state the frame plainly, weight to it, and name the variables we raked on so the estimate can be checked rather than taken on faith.

Publish the error band, including the awkward one

A margin of error describes how much a result would move if the same survey ran again, and nothing else. It says nothing about question wording or who was never reachable. An opt-in survey has no classical margin of sampling error at all, so we publish a modeled band beside the raw figure instead of implying a precision the design does not support.

Field in the languages the community speaks

In most South Florida cities, an English-only instrument under-represents part of the community, and the resulting numbers are wrong in a direction the data itself cannot reveal. Multilingual design is a decision made at the start, not a translation added at the end.

Deliver something people can interrogate

Most research ends as a PDF nobody opens twice. We build interactive dashboards where anyone can move through every question, filter by district and demographic, and switch between weighted and unweighted views. Findings a client would rather not see sit on the same page as the good ones.

Report what the research cannot settle

Research tells you where opinion stands today and what moves it. It does not forecast an election or decide a policy. When a result is close enough that we cannot call it, or when the honest reading is that a problem is about cost or trust rather than messaging, we say so plainly.

We publish a study only once the client clears it for release. When we do, the sample, the frame and the error band sit next to the numbers, and the full instrument is available to anyone who wants to check our work.

Cite anything you find here. Every finding, figure and chart on these dashboards is yours to quote, in reporting, in research, in a commission meeting or in a paper. We publish the sample, the frame, the weighting and the error band beside every number precisely so the work can be checked and used.
